"Arcplace & myself"

Our eight questions are today directed at Daphne Rich. She works as Head Human Resources at Arcplace since October 2019.

How does a good day at Arcplace start for you?

With a laugh and two cups of fine coffee from the Arcplace coffee machine. Since I usually get up at 5am, work from home, wake up my 2 boys and take them to the daycare, I need this extra kick to be fit for the working day :-).

What do you like particularly about your work?

The good atmosphere at Arcplace, the great colleagues, the flat hierarchies and the uncomplicated cooperation. My work in HR is incredibly diverse, a perfect mix of often unpredictable, exciting day-to-day business and conceptual work – I learn a lot every day and am allowed to contribute my ideas at the same time.

How do you unwind after a day at work?

When the kids are in bed with a short strength or relaxation workout and afterwards with my husband at a Netflix series or an Escape Adventure in book or box format for at home.

Please finish the sentence: I work at Arcplace because …

… it is incredibly dynamic here. We work in a constantly changing market environment, to which we constantly adapt. No day is like the other – boredom certainly does not occur in my job. In addition, the positive atmosphere at Arcplace convinced me from the very first job interview!

Whom would you like to meet in person and why?

I don't know if I should really say this – but I'm honest: Lara Croft! The character has fascinated me since my teenage years. Lara Croft is a strong woman, very intelligent, ingenious, knows what she wants, looks of course attractive and solves the trickiest puzzles in the world. What more could you want?

What drives you mad?

Most of all I am sometimes annoyed with myself and rarely with my children, for example when they "decorate" the new furniture with a stamp.

Which three things would you take with you to a deserted island?

1) My husband, because he can cheer me up anytime and install WLAN everywhere.
2) My elder son, because he knows how to call the PAW Patrol.
3) My younger son, because he can build trains and planes anytime and anywhere.

What couldn’t you do without?

My family, coffee, an exciting job and now and then a (big!) portion of sushi.
