Using state-of-the-art connectors, data such as chat logs, instant messages or activities in social networks can be stored in the data archive from over 60 different sources. Arcplace distinguishes between two methods of archiving emails: so-called mailbox archiving and journal archiving.
The purpose of mailbox archiving is to ease the burden on the email system by moving old email data into an archive. In addition, personal user archives (PST/NSF) can also be imported into the mailbox archive. The data is easy to access for users and no training is necessary.
The purpose of journal archiving is to store messages in accordance or in compliance with data retention laws and regulations. The entire stream of incoming and outgoing messages is copied to the journal archive. These messages are typically stored on legally compliant storage systems. To enable customers to search this collected data more efficiently, the solution includes comprehensive and efficient e-discovery capabilities.
The solutions for archiving communication data offered by Arcplace can be implemented using different models. In addition to conventional on-site installations, customers can choose between the "Managed" or "Cloud" service models. In the case of a managed service, the solution is provided on the customer's premises while being operated and managed by Arcplace. In the case of a cloud-based service, the solution is offered from Arcplace's datacenters.
