Swisscom extends partnership with Arcplace

After working together for five years, Swisscom is strengthening its collaboration with Arcplace and so consolidating the successful partnership. Arcplace will continue to support the Swisscom "Managed Communications & Collaboration Services" in future by providing expertise and services related to data archiving.

Swisscom offers large companies "Managed Communications & Collaboration Services", bringing together a variety of communication options, such as telephony, e-mail, instant messaging, audio and video conferences, application sharing or document management on an integrated platform. Thanks to the cooperation with Arcplace, which started in 2012, the data generated during communication can be optionally archived via a managed service. To date, Swisscom and Arcplace together have been able to successfully serve customers from different industries with different needs for archiving business-critical data. Customers have a central contact person at Swisscom, while a Swiss specialist in Arcplace manages their archiving in a highly secure and legally compliant manner.

Expansion of the offer in the IM area

The use of instant messaging (IM) platforms – such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Skype for Business, Facebook or Twitter – has become increasingly important in many companies over the past few years. Studies show that instant messaging can be used to exchange business-critical information just as easily as e-mail, for example.

Thanks to Arcplace's archiving solutions, such information can now be archived gradually and automatically, as well as in compliance with legal requirements. This allows the information from the messaging logs to remain preserved and traceable. If there are any queries, the archived instant messaging data can be searched in full text as part of e-discovery.

"By strengthening Swisscom's partnership with Arcplace, we continue to offer a cost-effective archiving solution with data storage at Swisscom Switzerland. At the same time, archiving instant messages also covers the new needs of our customers. With Arcplace, we have a partner who is "best-in-class" and an expert in information compliance," explains Zeno Stämmer, Product Management UCC at Swisscom Enterprise. Dominic Wullschleger, Head of Sales & Marketing at Arcplace, adds: "We are delighted to continue this successful partnership, which confirms the quality of our services. We look forward to further cooperation with Swisscom and joint projects."
