Veeam Backup & Replication Release v8 – the standard solution for backing up virtual server environments – provides the option to save backups to the cloud (Veeam Cloud Connect). Arcplace now offers businesses the Veeam Cloud Connect Service with certified datacenters in Zurich and Geneva.
Veeam, the world’s leading backup solution for virtual server environments (VMWare and Microsoft HyperV), has made its way into the era of the cloud. For even more data security, Veeam Backup & Replication v8 now provides an option to save additional copies of virtual environment backups with external service providers. As leading Swiss cloud backup service provider, Arcplace has prepared its ISO 27001-certified datacenters infrastructure to deliver this attractive new Veeam functionality. Both datacenters have also been audited by independent third parties in line with the FINMA circular 2008/7.
Arcplace’s new Veeam Cloud Connect Service works seamlessly with Veeam Backup & Replication. Upon signing up to a contract, service subscribers receive all the information they need to set up additional external copies in their backup jobs in Veeam – with just a few clicks. Data held in the Arcplace datacenters can be quickly and easily restored on demand using the Veeam backup console. All backup and restore actions are fully logged, and highly secure end-to-end encryption protects data during transmission to and from the datacenter. Arcplace offers different variants: cloud backups can thus be saved in only one or in both Arcplace datacenters.
The new Veeam Cloud Connect Service from Arcplace give businesses an easy option to significantly increase data security in virtual server environments without needing to invest in an own external IT backup infrastructure. External backups stored in the highly secure, certified Arcplace datacenters make it easier to stick to the golden “3-2-1 backup rule". This rule states that one should always create three copies of data on two different media, with one copy being stored externally. No additional Veeam licenses are required to use Arcplace's Veeam Cloud Connect Service.
