Planzer switched to digital archiving a number of years ago. Their first digital solution reached its limits with regard to performance and was inflexible in the face of millions of documents. Employees needed too much time to find the documents they were looking for. The poor of performance adversely affected flexibility and responsiveness with regard the company’s archive-related requirements.

New system will handle over 60 million documents

Arcplace implemented a new ECM solution for Planzer based on Hyland OnBase and made it available to the incoming goods department. All relevant documents are scanned after the physical incoming goods inspection and further processed on the basis of a printed bar code. Workflows defined in OnBase ensure that the documents are automatically sent to the right places in the company for approval and further processing, and are ultimately archived correctly.

High performance solution procured as a service

Planzer procures the scalable ECM solution from Arcplace as a complete service, meaning that it runs in the Arcplace datacenters and is supported around the clock as part of hosting and application management. The logistics professionals praise the smooth completion of the challenging project. "Thanks to Arcplace’s professional support, OnBase was introduced with a very high level of user satisfaction," confirms Loris Lüthi from the Business Services department at Planzer Informatik AG. The uniform solution brings about significant efficiency gains through simplified, unified and automated processing of incoming goods documents. Information is found by the employees within seconds, and at the same time a legally compliant archiving of all documents is guaranteed.
